Refresher Scuba Diving Courses

If you have not dived for a while or just need a quiet dive to regain confidence, we are happy to do 'one on one' refresher shore dives in the safe waters of Terrigal Haven, right outside our front door.

Just phone to make an appointment now before Summer & especially the sinking of the ex HMAS Adelaide.

As summer approaches we will be unable to guarantee you the same "one to one" attention because of the need to have structured courses to cater for increased demand.

Winter and Spring is the time to up date your scuba diving skills and go diving with a buddy who have has been teaching scuba diving in these waters for 40 years and dving these and many other waters including internationally for longer.

One dive may be all that is required to regain your confidence or alert you to where you need further training.

Do remember all your theory?
Direct effect of pressure on the diver, including lungs ears & sinuses. air purity, compressors & filters. rescue techniques, stress avoidance, resuscitation CPR & EAR. CO2 imbalance, effects of drugs or alcohol & saltwater in diving, emergency ascents, buddy diving, decompression sickness, use of tables?

How about dive planning, breathing rates & tank duration, use of decompression computers, wet suits & BCD's, the SCUBA set: tanks & regulators; mechanics, care & selection, dive physics; light refraction & colour loss, sound & dive flags. buoyancy factors (inc suit & tanks), correct buoyancy calculations, marine life including basic classification, cnidarians, echinoderms, molluscs & chordates or treatment of bites and stings?

If you don't remember all your hand signals we strongly advise you review them as wreck diving can be dangerous.

We teach these and more in our basic course and has to be taught over five days because safely diving and understanding our marine world is a comprehensive subject.

The weather above the surface can at times be unpleasant during Winter and Spring but one of our divers in part stated:

"So you have heard that its cold and murky and not worth diving?

Think again. Saturday July 11 presented 15m vis and 17 degree water.".......

Book a diving buddy now for a scuba diving refresher course and replenish your diving skills in the safe waters of Terrigal Haven.

It's just a quick walk over the sand back to the dive centre with hot showers, wash tub for your gear & a bottomless coffee pot where we can talk about your dive or future requirments for diving the ex HMAS Adelaide II Wreck.
